Exciting, exciting news, friends! I am proud as can be to announce that I will be a coach for the Society for Creative Founders Course! Some of you may recognize the Society for Creative Founders as its former name, Stationery Academy, run by the formidable and brilliant Jennifer Faught. (Keep reading, as I have a few enticing offers for you at the end of this post!)
I had the good fortune of attending Stationery Academy earlier this year, and this is where Jennifer announced the transition of their brand to the Society of Creative Founders in order to better capture the communities involved--makers, artists, and designers. The conference was game-changing for me, which is why I am absolutely thrilled and delighted to play a role in the seven-week online course that covers the six essential parts of a successful creative business: Your Core, Your Client, Your Brand, Your Money, Your Call, and Your Plan. Each week's module will be supported by a different industry coach, so not only will you be able to learn from the SCF's dazzling leader, Jennifer, you'll also have the opportunity to engage with a group of creative entrepreneurs representing a range of industries. While the course is "learn as you go" and you'll have lifetime access, you'll also have the opportunity to engage as a community and attend live Q&A calls as well.
I have had the pleasure of engaging in many conferences and educational opportunities, so what makes the Creative Founders Course unique? Content. Y'all, the curriculum is wide and deep. It's incredibly detailed, and you can expect to be actively engaged in exercises and put your brain to work. As a former high school teacher, teacher coach, and curriculum writer, my bar for adult learning is high. This content has the potential to guide you through significant and lasting change in your business. The other aspect of the course that stands out is the community. Many of the makers and artists you know and love the most are Stationery Academy alums and are currently engaged in the alumni community. The online course will provide a community of other makers, artists, and designers that you'll get to know more intimately throughout the experience, but those relationships will likely also last. Six months after my own experience in March, I still have a group text with my three roommates--and we check in and encourage each other often.
In preparation for the course, I am going to be blogging a short series on several of the course pillars, in each blog post, sharing some insights on how my approach to business has grown and adapted in the past few years. I hope these posts provide value knowledge that will help your business grow, and more importantly, I hope the information gets you excited about digging in deeper in the course!
